What is Scoliosis
Scoliosis is a condition in which the spine curves or rotates to one side. The degree of spinal curvature is measured in angles, and the larger the angle, the more severe the scoliosis becomes. It is a disorder related to the spine and usually begins during childhood. If a child’s growth is slow and the spinal curvature is below 30 degrees, careful monitoring is important because the condition may worsen over time if left untreated. When the spinal curvature reaches 50 to 75 degrees, doctors may recommend effective therapies or treatments. Scoliosis can gradually become more severe with age.
Symptoms of Scoliosis

- One hip appearing higher or larger than the other
- Ribs on one side being slightly higher than the other
